Nerd Does is Chris Nicholaidis's portfolio website. For privacy questions or requests to access, correct or delete your information, email website@nerd-does.tech.
Current preview: the public contact form remains a browser-only design preview and does not submit enquiries or make bookings. Micro Nerd is available only to signed-in WordPress users during testing. Optional visitor profiles and IP-to-profile cross-referencing are not active.

When you send a chat message, it is sent to OpenAI's API with relevant public project references and a small number of recent messages from this conversation to generate a reply. Your WordPress password, API key and private calendar details are not sent as chat context. Please do not enter sensitive personal information.
Conversation context is held in server memory, expires after 30 minutes of inactivity and is periodically removed. It is not written to a local chat-history database. Starting a new conversation stops using the previous context; the previous context expires independently. Restarting the assistant clears all in-memory context. Technical usage records contain a WordPress user ID, request time and cost reservation, not message text, and are retained for up to eight days for rate and spending limits.
API requests use store:false, so this application does not request stored model responses. OpenAI may still retain data under its applicable API processing and abuse-monitoring policies. See OpenAI's API data controls. WordPress and OpenAI are used to provide the chat response you request; the optional returning-visitor cookie is not required for this signed-in test chat.
Cookie choices
You can accept or reject optional visitor memory. Neither choice affects ordinary browsing. Use “Cookie settings” at any time to change your choice. We use a small first-party preference cookie to remember your decision; it contains no name, contact details or visitor ID.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
__Host-nd_cookie_choice | Necessary preference: remembers whether you allowed or rejected optional visitor memory. | 180 days |
__Host-micro_nerd | Planned optional feature, currently inactive: an encrypted random identifier linking this browser to a visitor profile. No personal details are held in the cookie. | 30 days after you choose to save/update a profile |
WordPress sign-in and administration may use necessary authentication, security and preference cookies when those functions are used. This custom notice does not block cookies needed to sign in.
Optional visitor memory
When activated, and only if you opt in and provide details, Micro Nerd will be able to remember your name and submitted contact details and associate your meeting requests with your profile. Contact details are encrypted on the server. IP addresses will be represented by a keyed hash for private cross-referencing; a shared or changing IP will not identify someone on its own.
Recognition on this browser may display your name. Only enable it on a device where you are comfortable with that. Meeting details and booking changes will require additional verification. The visitor-memory profile expires after 30 days unless you explicitly save or update it again. Any genuine enquiry or booking record will have its own stated retention rules when that workflow launches.
Technical information
The server processes connection information, including IP addresses, to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. This is separate from optional personalisation. Infrastructure and security logs are not used as Micro Nerd's public knowledge. No analytics or advertising trackers are added by this privacy component.
Your choices and rights
You may withdraw optional visitor-memory consent, request a copy or correction of your information, or request deletion using the contact address above. Withdrawing visitor memory will not cancel an existing meeting or automatically remove records needed to manage an enquiry. You may also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
When AI, calendar booking or external media integrations are activated, this page will explain the relevant providers, information shared and retention arrangements before those features are enabled.
